My husband has had gastrointestinal problems for nearly a year now. He has a lot of gas, loose stools, sometimes has to have
a bowel movement frequently, especially after meals and recently the color has turned to a yellowish color. He is an
otherwise healthy 36 year old, exercises frequently and eats a balanced diet, with no other medical issues. We have
determined that he has become lactose intolerant, and have adjusted his diet for that. He has also tried avoiding different
foods to try to find out if a certain food is causing this issue. So far, he has not found any foods that are causing the
problem. He went to the doctor once for the problem, but they said to avoid green tea, which did not fix the problem. I am
concerned that he perhaps picked up the giardia parasite on one of his trips. He's outdoors a lot, and has traveled all
over the US. He's been in Mexico and got traveler's diarrhea, but that was over 2 years ago and it cleared up.
When he mentioned it to the doctor that he thought it might be that, she dismissed it. We are concerned that he won't
get diagnosed right, and concerned that it could be a number of different things, from celiac disease to giardia, to IBS.
