Hello,
It looks like you are having pelvic inflammatory disease(PID).Intrauterine insertions are an important cause
of irregular bleeding as well as PID. Pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection of the uterus, fallopian
tubes or ovaries. It occurs when bacteria move upward from a woman's vagina or cervix to her uterus or
fallopian tubes. Many organisms are responsible for PID,gonnorhea and Chlamydia being the commonest ones.
PID is also responsible for irregular menstrual periods, spotting or cramps throughout the month.IUD like
mirena has rare chances of failure so I feel that pregnancy is not possible although you can have a home based
urine for pregnancy test to put an end to your fears. I sincerely advise you to consult a gynecologist and get
cervical swabs and pelvic ultrasound done to find out whether PID is responsible for your symptoms. In some
cases, a laparoscopy may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
Treatment will depend on the confirmation of the diagnosis.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.
