Hi,Thank you for your question I can understand your anxiety regarding your condition. Ultimately, your
treatment will depend on the cause of your condition and the severity of the symptoms. Compliance with
treatment is essential to avoid a relapse or worsening of the condition. Initially, treatment is with
antithyroid medications. Drugs called beta-blockers can also be used to treat some of the symptoms including
rapid heart rate, sweating, and anxiety until the condition is controlled. Unfortunately, recurrences of
hyperthyroidism after tablet treatment are not uncommon and sometimes patients will need to be on maintenance
therapy, or be considered for radioactive iodine, or surgical therapy to get relief. Take care and God Bless.
