I've been with the same guy for almost 3 years and I have never been pregnant.

	I had PID in 2006 and 2008, do I still have a chance of getting pregnant? Will going to a fertility doctor be helpful?

	Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Thu 17, Jul 2008 09:32am: Hi, Generally PID which is treated properly does not have a lasting effect. However recurrent PID does reduce the chances of getting pregnant as chances of scarring increase. Sometimes this scarring can block the fallopian tubes and lead to ectopic pregnancy. Sometimes these blocked tubes can be repaired by surgery. I think it will be good idea to consult a fertility doctor. Do keep us informed.
