Prolonged periods after contraceptive injection

	Had my first contraceptive injection and was then nearly 2 weeks late for my period. Now it had started it just won't stop, it is really light and very light in colour but has been going on for just under two weeks now. Will it ever stop?

	Answer by Dr Bhupinder K, MD (doctor) on Sat 16, May 2009 12:20pm: Hello, Depoprovera shots can cause irregularity in the menstrual cycle as longer or shorter menstrual periods, heavier or lighter periods.It usually comes back to normal in a few weeks with a few weeks.If it still persists then pls consult a gynecologist.
