SPIDER BITE ON PREGNANT WOMAN'S UPPER ARM - SWOLLEN, RED AND ITCHY

	I am pregnant and have several spider bites on my upper arm. They are swollen, red and itchy with the bite in the center. What should I do?

	Answer by Dr Noopur S, MD (doctor) on Thu 17, Jul 2008 09:15am: Hi, The immediate treatment of spider bite is washing that area with soap and water. You can apply wet cloth or ice to the affected area. A mild pain killer like Tylenol can be taken. For treatment of swelling and itching OTC antihistamines can be taken. Since you are pregnant please consult your obgyn before you take them. Do keep us posted!
