Vaginal walls hurting slight bleeding

Asked by joshbach (Female; 21 ) on Mon 18, Jul 2011 03:19pm :

My girlfriend and i havent had sex in 9 months the other night we tried having sex unfortuantely she said that her vaginal wall hurt when i was pentrating her we thought it may have been because we hadnt been sexually active in 9 months and that she might be overly tight, never the less I decided that I had better stop just in case, later that day apparently there was some blood not a lot but enough that she was concerned and she just finished her period bout a week ago, shes 21, now ive done done some research and iam worried it might be cervical cancer as she hasnt had the shot to protect againest I am slightly worried

Answer by Dr Sheetal Kaul (doctor) on Tue 26, Jul 2011 03:49pm:

Difficult or painful intercourse could be dyspareunia, which could occur due to psychogenic factors, infections, vaginismus, hormonal imbalance like oestrogen deficiency, hymenal remanats, growths, ulcers, imflammations etc. Inability to penetrate is commonly due to vaginusmus which may be linked to psychological factors. Associted bleeding could be linked to trauma, infections, ulcers, erosions, growths etc. At this time, I would suggest consulting a gynaecologist for an evaluation of other potentially serious causes. After a cause is diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly. Hope this helps. Take care.
