excrutiating upper left leg thigh area pain shooting up leg confined to bed with fever and nausea

	Asked by Unregistered (Male; 77; radical prostate surgery in 2003, both hips replaced most recent feb 2007. High blood pressure but controlled and sometimes more low than high. Treated 1 month ago for bacteria found in blood. Given Flucan and advil 325 mg.; Relevant drugs:Taking benicar 10mg, sular 10mg, advair x2 daily. Given 4 days ago are cipro 500mg x 2 daily, motrin 800 mg x 2 daily. Vicadin for pain. ) on Thu 17, Jul 2008 04:05am :
	My father, very active 77 yr old white male, having had 2 total hip replacements most recent left hip feb 2007, and radical prostate surgery in 2003, complains of weakness, nausea, and fever. bp and pulse 111/62/p59 about month and half ago. Went to emergency room found bacteria in blood given antibiotic and improved until this past sunday. Patient taken back to ER now with acute pain of left upper thigh fever and nausea. Given morphine in er and sent home with motrin 800 mgs. cipro 500 mg x 2 daily, vicadin. (other meds had been taking prior are sular, benicar, advair for copd) Still cannot walk due to severe pain, fever still not regulated but improving slightly. PPPLEASE HELP!!!
