my daughter is now 12.5 yrs old started her period at 9,it still has not stabilized! i was told too look into placing her on
birthcontrol a option too stabilize her reverse puberty/early puberty ! they did a ultra sound and thougth she had
endometriosis,or cyst of her oviaries!
she has painful menstraul cycles and takes midol! and has a period for only one day and is spotting when she has it! other
times it's a flow(she says)!she does have her period every month through! should i get her onto birth control as
reccomended if so what kind? she also has adhd and enuressis!and severe alergies

Hi,
Age of onset of puberty varies with individual physical development and lifestyle.
9 years is not too early an age for onset of menarche as the age of menarche has been falling every decade.
Racial factors also play an important role in the age of onset of menarche.
Is your daughter on any medication for treatment of ADHD and the enuresis?
Is she in the appropriate height-and-weight range for her age group?
You will need to provide details about any other medications she is on so that we can assess whether the
alteration from normal menstrual bleeding is attributable to a side effect. The decision regarding OCPs will
also be related to these details.
You can start her on supplements of gamma linoleic oil (evening primrose oil) and fish liver oil to provide
the basic essential amino and omega-3 fatty acids required for normal development.
