	My girlfriend is pregnant. She cheated on me now i dont know if im the father or not. my question is how accurate are doctors at giving a due date?

	Answer by Dr Bobby V, MD (doctor) on Sat 03, May 2008 01:29pm: Hi, The "due-date" that you are asking about, is called "expected date of delivery (EDD)" in medical parlance. This is calculated based upon the last menstrual period (LMP). In case the LMP cannot be recalled with accuracy, then ultrasound measurements are made to ascertain the fetal maturity, and an EDD is estimated. Both methods are fairly accurate. Well if they guess by what she say's they are usually off because it's hard to remember when your period started and exactly ended. Now when she gets an ultrasound the fetus is measured and it tells all the way to the exact day of how far along she is and that's like 99.9% right! I got an ultrasound on Jan 11th 2011 and it measured my baby at 6 weeks and 2 days so I counted back and the exact day I got pregnant was Dec 4th 2011 and they told me my due date was Sept 4th 2011 and that was 100% accurate on the day I conceived!. So when she gets an ultrasound count back the days and you'll know exactly if it was a day u were with her. Good luck!! God Bless You I hope u are the father if that's what u want!!!!
