ovarian cancer - Cyst on Ovary and chances of ovarain cancer

i have a cyst on my ovary 5cm in size looked solid on an ultrasound is this a small cyst, whats the chance of this being ovarian cancer

Hi, Depending on your age and your age, the actual estimates would vary. Your post makes no clear description. A cyst refers to a fluid filled mass, but solid means there is no fluid. You either mean: a purely solid mass and you are asking if this is a cyst or a mixed (part solid part cystic) presentation Either way the presence of the solid component will make the risk of malignancy high (around 80% or more of cancers may have such solid features). Your doctor would likely pursue more tests and appraise the benefit /risk of more invasive methods.
