Hi. Ovarian cysts are harmless in most cases and may go away on their own. Rarely, a cyst may be cancerous.
Treatment will depend not only on the size of the cyst, but also on the type of cyst and presence of symptoms.
If you have no symptoms, your doctor may recommend monitoring every 1-2 months to see if the cyst changed in
size. Birth control pills may be prescribed if you have recurrent functional cysts to prevent new cysts from
forming. For proper evaluation and management, please consult a doctor (OB gynecologist). Hope this helps.
Take care and warm regards.
