possible miscarriage question... should i call ob/gyn

	i had a positive pregnancy test at the doctor's office. i had some light spotting last night and have lower abdominal pain. should i call my ob/gyn?

	Answer by Dr Simran, MD (doctor) on Wed 06, Aug 2008 09:08am: Hello kissaddict, Light bleeding or spotting during pregnancy particularly during the first three months is common You should consult your doctor and go in for examination anad ultrasonography rule out any complications. There could be some vaginal infection or a sexually transmitted infection. It can also be an early sign of miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, especially if accompanied by abdominal pain. You should ger an evaluation done. Best.
