uterine polyp - uterine polyp and thickened endormetrium: Doctor recommened birth control pills for 3 months

	i was bleeding unusal time i went and check myself to the doctor he told m e i have uterine polyp and thickened endormetrium and he told me to take for 3 motnhs brthcontrol pills it's possible to remove it what do you think i need a sergery

	Answer by Dr.Bhumika Aggarwal (doctor) on Fri 04, Apr 2008 01:27pm: Hi, Do you have a final confirmed diagnosis of a Uterine Polyp? The treatment for a Uterine Polyp is usually Surgery of choice. This is usually done by Currettege or hysteroscopic removal. There is also another choice of observation. whereby symptoms usually decreas sometimes without any prescribed antibiotic. Your doctor must have suggested OCP to maintain a non-pregnant status and also to wit from some time and then decide whether this would want an intervention. Uterine polyp frequently cause bleeding and therefore surgery is the major treatment modality available Hope this helped. Let us know if you may need any other answers.
