If I have or might have a bladder infection or UTI, would that effect the results of an at home pregnancy test?

Thanks for writing in.Generally, pregnancy urine tests are accurate but not always and certain factors may affect the accuracy.
Pregnancy test, is intended to find out the presence of a hormone called, Human chorionic gonadotropin. It’s presence varies in the sample in which it is checked. Early morning sample usually has higher amounts and preferrably more specific results. Also infections can sometimes influence the test values.
In case you missed your period, I would suggest to get a blood test done, which is more accurate than a home pregnancy test.
    Take care.
